How long: 2 days (1 night)
A short escape from Baltimore. Jesse & I drove to Assateague early to beat the snow. Spent a couple hours driving around Assateague Island National Seashore, looking for horses & enjoying the scenery. We were lucky enough to see horses along the side of the road before we even reached the toll booth.
We walked a few paths through the dunes, which on this chilly day led to beautiful, empty beaches. Saw more horses from a distance.
We returned the next day and were able to see more horses, both close and from a distance. The boardwalks were fun to explore for more horse-viewing.
We stayed in nearby Berlin, MD, which has a cute main street area to walk around. We spent a few hours at the great Burley Oak Brewery. Missed the tour but tried lots of great IPAs and sour beers. Live music started in the evening, with lots of locals on a Saturday night. Hands down favorite brewery!
Lodging: We splurged on a night in the fancy Atlantic Hotel in Berlin, MD.

- Blacksmith: Hyped mac and cheese was disappointing, but everything else was good.
- The Globe: Interesting theater venue turned restaurant. Food was ok. Silver fox live performer was a huge hit with the 60+ female crowd and a surprise for us!
